Cooling Dock

Ships in 1-2 weeks, see orders tab.
  • The Cooling Dock uses a unique leaning vertical configuration for easy closed-screen clamshell setup and processor area cooling to help restore performance potential for pro users.
  • All Cooling Dock models run the laptop in closed-screen clamshell mode with a leaning support milled from solid aluminum that provides passive heat sink cooling, preserves built-in screen/keyboard, reduces desktop footprint, includes a user adjustable laptop locking pad, and allows for easy clamshell mode setup with access to the laptop’s power button while connected to cables and safely held within a padded cradle.
    • The new DxBLK Pro and new DxRED Pro models include universal support and active cooling designed for all Mac and PC laptops, with optimization for current generation Mac laptops. Each model drives airflow through ten side vents and one larger lower vent to cool the laptop’s enclosure at the processor location as well as the surrounding enclosure. The lower vent also helps to drive cooling air into laptop models with a central intake vent along the bottom screen hinge, such as with 2021+ M1 Pro Apple Silicon MacBook Pro models. The new DxBLK Pro model includes an ultra-quiet variable-speed cooling system with thermistor that measures the laptop’s enclosure temperature and automatically adjusts fan speed. The new DxRED Pro model includes a single-speed cooling system with balanced cooling and audio performance. The DxBLK and DxRED cooling system uses a modular cooling system that allows for exchanging cooling systems, easier servicing and maintenance, as well a standard fan connector for easily changing or replacing fans.
    • The updated DxRED Legacy model includes a support and active cooling system designed to internally cool processors with cooling air driven directly into a center intake vent on compatible prior generation Mac laptops (2012-2015 MacBook Pro, 2008-2017 MacBook Air, and select PC laptops). The modular cooling system uses a single-speed with balanced cooling and audio performance for simplicity of operation, and also use a standard fan connector to allow users to easily change or replace fans.
    • The D model includes universal support and passive cooling designed for all Mac and PC laptops, with optimization for current generation Mac laptops. It feature a massive 3.3 pound aluminum heat sink and a natural cooling airflow channel for silent cooling.
  • The Cooling Dock product line has been expanded to include the new DxBLK Pro and DxRED Pro models.

In support of our existing customers, we offer the following upgrade options:
    • Customers with a D2n Pro, D2 Pro, or D1 Pro model: These models use a modular cooling system that allows you to install a new DxBLK or DxRED cooling system.
    • Customers with an original D2 Legacy or D1 Legacy model: Send us an original D2/D1 Legacy to upgrade the aluminum dock with new venting and padding, and reuse of the original D2/D1 cooling system (the upgrade includes cooling system cleaning, as well as a firmware update for D2 systems). Alternatively, purchase a new DxBLK Pro or DxRED Pro model and receive a partial refund on the purchase after returning the original D2 / D1 Legacy model. The upgrade cost or the amount of the partial refund depends on the Legacy model and its condition, please contact us for details and an estimate.
    • Customers with an original D model: Purchase a set of Laptop Retention Pads at our material cost.

Running in clamshell mode traps heat while external displays and pro apps can make laptop fans scream, degrade hardware reliability and reduce performance.
